The 2011 schedule is set and we're ready to race. In addition to the BABA and WET course racing events, BABA has established a GPS Speed Quest - see the grey side-bar to the right for links.

For 2011, we're focusing our efforts on our 2 2-day events and the Gerry Brown Memorial Regatta with BCSC. All regattas will be stand-alone events. We're working with sailing clubs in the region to add windsurfing starts to their regattas in order to continue our efforts to raise the profile of windsurfing among the sailing community, especially Juniors. More info will be coming on this website and via More_Downhaul, so be sure to register so you get up to the minute information.

Racing is one of the best ways to improve your windsurfing and sailbording skills. Race courses combine upwind, downwind and across the wind sailing around bouys. Tacks and jibes are performed to complete the course.

BABA shares the love with our Novices and Juniors - the most important classes at every racing event. If you've never raced, but are interested, come on out and give it a try. The Novice class is for first time racers, experienced sailors to newbies - the race course is a new challenge for everyone. Juniors are 21 and under - including experienced racers and newbies.

Continuing for 2011 is a Hybrid class - bring out those Techno 293 one design boards. Hybrid boards can be rented from East of Maui or Ultimate Watersports. If you have been wanting to race but don't have the ideal light wind machine, set one up for rental on one of our race days and find out how much fun it is chasing people around a course. This board is a great novice platform too and it has been selected as the Junior one-design board.
